One charged for rape of Kazakh citizen, ‘bringing to suicide’

The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has charged an individual identified only as B.T. for the rape of a Kazakh citizen which then led to her death.

On May 5, B.T. raped 26-year-old A.A. after threatening her. Following the rape, the woman jumped from the eighth floor of a residential building.

B.T. was detained on May 6.

The Georgian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty has reported that the Kazakh woman, who had arrived in Georgia over a month ago, worked at a Georgian-Kazakh company.

Allegedly the detainee is her co-worker.

The crime is punishable by eight to ten years in prison.
