Georgia reports 549 new cases of coronavirus of 9,535 tests



Georgia has reported 549 new cases of coronavirus, 1,439 recoveries and 24 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

9,535 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend. 5,665 of the 9,535 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 3,870 were PCR tests. 

The individuals who have already received their first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine are able to receive their second doses starting today. 

The country has had 322,468 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 

6.03 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

302,428 of the 322,468 patients have recovered, while 4,305 have died from the virus.

Currently 15,709 individuals remain infected with Covid-19. 

The new 549 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi – 300 cases 
  • Adjara – 77 cases 
  • Imereti – 43 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli – 22 cases 
  • Shida Kartli – 9 cases 
  • Guria – 9 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 45 cases 
  • Kakheti – 16 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 11 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti – 7 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 10 cases

4,481 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 924 of the 4,481 patients are in critical condition. 197 of the 924 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 

30,655 individuals are in self-isolation.

More than 4,372,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
